2011-2012 NHL Picks Recap

With the Los Angeles Kings wrapping up the Stanley Cup on Monday night with a 4-2 series win we are now done the NHL picks for the season.  Congrats to the Los Angeles Kings team and organization – that was definitely an impressive Stanley Cup run, especially with all of the road victories.

We had the Devils as fairly big underdogs to win the Finals in a series play, but it didn’t go our way.  Los Angeles deserved the series victory, but if the Devils were able to win even just 1 of those first two home games that went into Overtime it would have been a completely different series.  Last year we cashed with an underdog play on the Bruins in the Finals due to some lucky bounces, and this year it goes the opposite way for us.

Overall I will be the first to admit that I had a disappointing NHL season with my picks.  I had a very rough first half of the season where   it felt everything was going against me.  At one point in the season we we down about 45 units, and after taking a bit of time off to regroup we ended up finishing on a positive note gaining back just over 20 units.  On the year we lost 23.70 units. Following a stellar season in 2010-2011 where we profited 41.42 units it was very tough to see myself in the “red” for almost the entire season.

I followed the games more closely and worked even harder than last year, but things just didn’t seem to go my way.  I feel like it was a little tougher to get a read on teams (a lot of inconsistencies) this season, but also a few unlucky bounces and bad beats with our higher rated plays led us to a losing season overall.

I WILL be back next season, and with a winning season.  I hope you come back and follow along next year.  Good Luck to you over the summer and if you want some betting action you can join me with my MLB picks if you haven’t already.
