We finished off the regular season on a good note hitting our members 4 Unit play and adding 3.40 units with the Blues winning by 2. We now head into the “real season” and it is going to be a lot of fun. The playoffs are a totally different game and we look to get on a big run and enjoy the ride.

I’ve sent out two series bets to members, and then two other plays are locked in for two Game 1’s (Ottawa and San Jose). There are three games going tonight, and I’ve got one play for tonight.

2 UNIT = Minnesota Wild @ Chicago Blackhawks – WILD TO SCORE UNDER 1.5 GOALS (+160)
(Note: I’m risking 2.00 units to win 3.20 units)

Instead of playing the UNDER 5 at around -110 I’ve decided to play the Wild UNDER 1.5 goals. This can be found at almost all sportsbooks (for example 5dimes has it under the regular NHL list titled “team total points” and pinnacle has it under “NHL OT Included team totals”. If you can’t bet the Wild under I would still recommend a play on the under 5.

These two teams have met three times this year with the Blackhawks winning 2 of 3. We saw totals of 7, 8 and most recently 1 with the Wild scoring 0, 3, and 3 goals in each game. Although Minnesota managed to get 3 goals in two of their meetings with Chicago the Blackhawks held Minnesota to 25, 23 and 20 shots in their meetings. Chicago has done a good job at holding opponents to a minimum amount of scoring opportunities and head into the playoffs they gave up an average of 2.4 goals per game in their last 10. Overall Chicago gave up just over 2 goals per game at home this season. The Wild have scored just 19 goals over their last 10 games played (1.9 per game) and 9 of those goals came in two games against non-playoff teams. Take out those two games and they scored just 10 goals over their other 8 games. They will be facing Corey Crawford who is 19-5-8 on the season with a solid .926 SV% and 1.94 GAA. With Chicago tightening up defensively tonight I think it will be tough for Minnesota to score, and given the price I like the value on Minnesota UNDER 1.5 goals tonight.

*Write ups for the series plays will be sent to members sometime tonight or early tomorrow.
