3-0. That is going to be my final record with playoff series’ this year. Unfortunately I don’t really see much value on either side here in the Stanley Cup Finals, so I will only be betting the game and not be placing a bet on the series. It’s alright, I am completely happy with my 3 big series plays, which included 2 underdogs. Lets move on and focus on Game 1 tonight between the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks, in what should be a great Stanley Cup finals!
It has been a great 2010-2011 year, as I am now up over 35 units or 35% on my bankroll. A much better investment than the stock market 🙂
Lets continue this right through the Stanley Cup Finals, and push for 38-40 units on the season! If you haven’t signed up for my exclusive GOW/GOM size picks click here to sign up free as I may have one or two throughout this final series if I find the value.
Tonight’s play is going somewhere I haven’t touched at all this year. I am going to be betting the total for just one team (not the game total with both teams combined). Every online betting site should have this option available for you… if not sign up at 5Dimes.com <- one of the top 2, maybe the best betting site out there.
I am going to lay down a bet on the Bruins to score UNDER 2.5 goals. If they score 0, 1, or 2 goals I hit this wager. Note that the UNDER is 42-12-6 in the Bruins last 60 road games vs a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The UNDER is also 14-5-2 in their Bruins last 21 games as a big underdog of +151 to +200. In their 3 Game 1’s of these playoffs the Bruins have been shutout by Montreal, scored 7 goals in Philly, and scored 2 goals in a loss to Tampa Bay. 2 of 3 they struggled to score. Looking at the Canucks, they have won all three of their Game 1’s, and have held opponents to 0, 0 and 2 goals. Boston is converting their powerplay at a horrible 8.2% rate over these playoffs, and I don’t see them improving much on those numbers against a Canucks team who has had some time to prepare. Note that this season the Canucks have averaged just 2.18 goals against on their home ice. If Boston wins tonight they will need to play a tight checking defensive style, and I just can’t see them doing much damage offensively at least here in Vancouver for Game 1. I’m on the BRUINS UNDER 2.5 GOALS.
