After a 8-1 Bruins victory in Game 3 it put a whole new view on this series. With a Bruins win tonight, Boston can even things up and be guaranteed another home game in these Stanley Cup finals.
Lets get into Game 4’s pick:
Vancouver Canucks @ Boston Bruins – BRUINS TO WIN (-115)
My original thoughts were that I would take the Canucks in Game 3 if they were underdogs, and if they lost I would take them in Game 4 (as long as they were underdogs again), but the 8-1 victory totally changed my views on this series and I am staying away from that strategy. I think the Bruins have the big advantage in Game 4 here after that thrashing of the Canucks. Add in the controversial suspension for Rome, who misses the rest of the postseason, and I don’t think the Canucks are as confident or as focused as they will need to be in order to get a road victory here in the Game 4. Note that the Canucks are 1-6 in their last 7 games following a loss of 3 or more goals <- Add in that this game is just two nights later, and in one of the tougher NHL arena’s to play in.
Boston has figured out their powerplay somewhat, going 2 for 4 in Game 3, making them 3 for 13 in the Stanley Cup finals. The Canucks are just 1 for 16 with the man advantage in this series. Boston has won 4 straight home games, and are 13-6 in their last 19 games overall. Boston hasn’t played well after a victory lately, but with their back against the walls at home they seem to play good (2-0 in game 7’s at home).
I look for the Bruins to play off the crowds energy, and even up the series with a win here in Game 3. Don’t expect a blowout like Game 3, but I expect a Bruins win – lay it down on the moneyline.
