We had a day off yesterday with just one game in the NHL.  Today we’ve got 12 games and I’ve got a couple plays going…

I’ve added small write ups to the later plays.

2 UNIT = Pittsburgh Penguins @ New Jersey Devils – OVER 5.5 GOALS (+130) **EARLY START**
(Note: I’m risking 2.00 units to win 2.60 units)

2 UNIT = Toronto Maple Leafs @ Montreal Canadiens – MAPLE LEAFS TO WIN (+150)
(Note: I’m risking 2.00 units to win 3.00 units)

The Maple Leafs have already beaten the Canadiens in their season opener in Montreal in a sloppy game that finished with a score of 2-1.  The Leafs have won two straight games, both on the road, which improves their record to 5-1 away from home.  The Canadiens have lost two straight games and are now 6-3-1 on the season and 5-2 at home.  Anything can happen when these two teams meet, as the underdog has won 7 of the last 9 meetings.  The road team is also 5-1 in their last 6 meetings.  I’m taking the Leafs tonight given a good price.

2 UNIT = Anaheim Ducks @ St Louis Blues – DUCKS TO WIN (+168)
(Note: I’m risking 2.00 units to win 3.36 units)

The Ducks are coming off a 3-1 loss last night, but are still a solid 7-2-1 on the season and 3-1-1 on the road.  Viktor Fasth is expected to get the start tonight and he is a perfect 4-0 with a steller 1.06 GAA and .957 SV%.  The Blues are losers of three straight games, including two straight home games where they’ve scored just 1 goal in each.  Brian Elliot will get the start tonight and he is 3-4 with a 3.30 GAA and .864 SV%.  Take the Ducks at a nice price.

2 UNIT =  Tampa Bay Lightning @ Boston Bruins – BRUINS TO WIN (-142)
(Note: I’m risking 2.00 units to win 1.41 units)

Lightning are 1-3 away from home and have lost three straight.  The Bruins have won 2 straight and 5 of their last 6 overall for a 7-1-1 record and 4-1 home record.  Boston won both meetings with Tampa Bay at home last year, and over the years the Lightning have really struggled going 4-23-4 in their last 31 meetings in Boston.
