The Sharks came out very hard last night in Anaheim going up 3-0 early.  The Ducks made it interesting scoring a late one to make it 4-3, but the Sharks put them away with an empty netter to win 5-3.  San Jose had 39 shots on net outshooting Anaheim 39-27.

We come back with just one play again tonight as we look for a winner. I’ve got my eye on a game this week that I think we might see a lot value depending on where the sportsbooks open the line at.  I’m ready for a big run with my 4 and 5 unit plays, so hopefully we find some good lines heading down the last big stretch of the regular season.

2 UNIT =  New York Islanders @ Washington Capitals – CAPITALS TO WIN (-135)
(Note: I’m risking 2.00 units to win 1.48 units)

The New York Islanders are 14-15-3 on the season and 8-4-1 on the road.  Washington enters this game 15-16-1 on the year and 8-7 at home.  New York is coming off a 3-0 win at home vs Florida, but their recent 4 game home stand wasn’t a good one as they lost 3 of the 4 games and only got 2 of a possible 8 points.  The losses came against some good teams in Pittsburgh, Montreal and Ottawa, but the Islanders gave up 14 goals over those three games.  The Capitals were successful on their 4 game road swing as they took 6 of a possible 8 points winning 3 of 4.  They beat Winnipeg twice and then New York in shootout on Sunday.  Washington has gone 5-2 over their last 7 games as they make a push towards a playoff spot.  Tonight’s starters are Evgeni Nabokov for the Islanders and Braden Holtby for Washington.  Nabakov is 14-10-3 with a 2.83 GAA and .902 SV%.  Although he is coming off a shutout against Florida, he allowed 12 goals over his previous 3 starts.  Holtby is 13-10-0 with a 2.64 GAA and .917 SV%.  He has allowed just 5 goals against in his last 4 starts.  The Islanders won these two teams first meeting in New York, but the Capitals are 20-7-2 in their last 29 home meetings with the Islanders.  Both teams are playing in their 4th game in 6 nights, and the Islanders are 1-4 in their last 5 times in that situation while the Caps are 4-1 in their last 5 times playing their 4th in 6.  Washington has won 3 straight and 5 of their last 7 home games.  I will go the Caps at home as they bring some energy back to their own building after a great road trip.
