Wow what a way to win our Game of the Month (GOM) pick.  The Minnesota Wild were up 2-0 before giving up their lead and falling down 3-2.  The Wild tied it up with less than a minute to go and then won in overtime.  The win improves the Wild impressive home record and cashes our GOM play!

Tonight there are 10 games in the NHL, but as I continue to try and be selective I will take one underdog that I think should be favored tonight…

2 UNIT = New York Rangers @ Ottawa Senators – SENATORS TO WIN (-102)
(Note: I’m risking 2.00 units to win 1.96 units)

The Rangers are 16-13-3 on the season and just 6-7-1 on the road.  The Senators are 18-9-6 on the year and a solid 12-2-3 on their home ice.  New York is coming off a 5-2 in Philadelphia, but they’ve won just 3 of their last 8 games overall.  The Senators are winners of two straight, including a 3-2 shootout win vs New Jersey on Monday night.  They’ve also won 5 of their last 6 games overall.  Ottawa has enjoyed 3 straight home games.  These two teams have met twice so far this season after meeting in the postseason last year.  The Senators won the first meeting 3-2 at home in a shootout, and then went into New York to win again 3-2.  Ottawa has won 8 of their last 10 home games, and they are 7-3 in their last 10 games following a win.  The Rangers are just 1-4 in their last 5 vs a team with a winning record.   Ottawa has been a very tough team to beat when they’re playing at home, and with the Rangers under .500 on the road and losers of 5 of their last 8 games I’m surprised to see Ottawa as the underdogs.  I’ll go with the Sens at a good price at home.
