March 31st, 2013

We went 1-2 last night.  We hit our afternoon play on the Pens to win in regulation as they scored two third period goals for a 2-0 victory.  The Canucks allowed 4 quick first period goals on the way to a 4-0 loss in Edmonton.  We picked San Jose in regulation time, but it took them shootout to beat the Coyotes at home.

We’ve got a couple games going here on Sunday, including a great afternoon match up between the Hawks and Wings.  My pick is coming in a later game.

Usually on Sunday’s I won’t have a write up but today I will include one.  I leave for Detroit tonight tonight and then fly out of Detroit to Florida early tomorrow morning, so I may or may not have a write up with tomorrow’s pick(s).  I have wifi at the place I’m staying at so things should resume like normal from then on out.  Ok tonight’s pick…

2 UNIT = Los Angeles Kings @ Dallas Stars – STARS TO WIN (+101)
(Note: I’m risking 2.00 units to win 2.02 units)

The Los Angeles Kings are 19-12-3 on the year, but just 7-8-2 on the road this season.  They are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss last night in Minnesota, and will be playing in their 4th straight road game tonight.  It will be a quick turn around for the Kings with last night’s game an 8:00 PM EST start and today’s a 6:00 PM EST start.  The Kings had played three playoff teams this week leading up to this game (Chicago, St Louis, Minnesota) and tonight’s game in Dallas seems to be a let down spot for the Kings.  Dallas is 16-14-3 on the year, and 8-7-2 at home.  They are coming off a 5-3 home win vs Minnesota, making them 3-1 in their last 4 games.  One of those wins was a 2-0 victory in Los Angeles.  The Stars are actually 2-0 against the Kings this season with both games being played in Los Angeles.  Dallas is 4-1 in their last 5 meetings with the Kings.  This should be a good spot for the Stars behind Kari Lehtonen who had a 40 save shutout last time these two teams last week.  I’ll take the Stars as home underdogs vs the Kings on less than 24 hours rest.

NOTE: The MLB season  is kicking off tonight and I’m about to release my first free pick of the season. Head on over to if you want to sign up for my picks.

  1. Flight is 2 hrs so turn-around isn’t a factor. Kings dominated the last game, thus the stat of a shot every 45 seconds.

Word frm the rink is Bernier might be in nets who will be rested and has been a solid number 2 this season.

Aconfident read on the home team perhaps should have called for an RT bet.

A rare away bet by myself but value in the Kings in 60 minutes. GL
