NHL Picks for April 16th

Our underdog play on the Rangers didn’t come through last night as they were shutout 2-0 against the Capitals.  We’re coming right back with a winning play today and a GOW pick!

Today’s GOW play is exclusive for Sports Picks King members unfortunately for all of you looking for free plays.  It is a system play and we’ve decided to only release it there.  Click here if you want to sign up to get the pick…

I am 17-6 on my exclusive picks this year, and am very confident in the GOW rated play – highly recommend signing up to receive it.  Because I’m not releasing it free I won’t be able to count it towards my record here, but in my mind it is my GOW too 🙂

Lets get on to today’s free pick…

NHL Betting Picks for Saturday April 16th:

Phoenix Coyotes @ Detroit Red Wings – OVER 5.5 GOALS (+110) *1:00 PM EST START*

Although the Coyotes got the first lead of the series in Game 1, the Red Wings turned it on and ended up scoring the next four goals and winning 4-2 in front of their home crowd.  The Red Wings had 36 shots on goals, and the Coyotes weren’t too far behind with 28 themselves.  These two teams have gone OVER the posted total in 5 of their last 7 meetings, but what impressed me more were the shot totals of these meetings (64, 62, 71, 81, 59, 83, and 62).  They seem to always play very high tempo games with a lot of scoring opportunities being created.  The OVER is 5-2-1 in their last 8 meetings in Detroit.  Note that the Wings are allowing 3.07 goals against per game at home this season, but are scoring an average of 3.17 per game at the Joe Louis themselves.  The Red Wings converted on one of their three powerplays on Wednesday night, and that shouldn’t be surprising considering the Wings 5th ranked powerplay is facing the leagues 5th worst ranked penalty kill.  The Coyotes will have troubles containing Franzen and Datsyuk throughout this series.  In game one Johan Franzen picked up his 71st point in 76 career playoff games, and Pavel Datsyuk was on a tear recording a goal and eight shots on net. I wouldn’t be surprised to see another high scoring playoff game between these two teams Saturday afternoon.  I’m on the OVER.

Good Luck!  and I highly recommend checking out our GOW rated play at SportsPicksKing.com!

  1. Hi Kevin!
What do you think about my pick-
    Philadelphia
    Boston
Pheonix(im very interested what you think abouth this game)

  2. Philly have no value at all. 50/50 game if I had to bet on it i’d pick buff.

    Boston should win.

    Phoenix will get killed 4-1

kevin: Personally I would never bet Over. On any game.

  3. I don’t like the price on the Sharks… leaving that game alone. Got a bet in on Montreal when I heard Chara was out – great price at +180 and looking good but very early.
