Congrats guys, another solid night. 2/3 last night which were both underdog picks including a big +185 pick on the Leafs. Toronto took the Bruins to shootout and got the 4-3 win for us. We also had the Sens at +115, who won 4-1 in Florida. 🙂
The NHL is pretty slow tonight with only 4 games on the NHL betting board, but I do have one pick for you.
Check for a possible Game of the Week (GOW) play coming tomorrow night, depending on where the lines end up. If you aren’t signed up you will be able to sign up to get the pick free by clicking here and following the instructions.
Lets get into tonight’s pick…
NHL Betting Picks for Friday, April 1st:
Philadelphia Flyers @ New Jersey Devils – FLYERS TO WIN (-105) – Philadelphia is in the middle of a lot of struggles right now, coming off a 1-0 home loss last night to the Thrashers. The Flyers have won just 4 of their last 10 games and see themselves just 1 point up on Washington for the Eastern Conference lead. The New Jersey Devils have dropped 5 of their last 7 games, but are off a 3-2 home win against the Islanders on Wednesday night. New Jersey gives Martin Brodeur the night off tonight, as Hedberg will look to pick up from where Brodeur left off. The Devils, who are averaging just 2 goals per game on the season, are scoring only 1.40 goals per game over their last 5. The Flyers aren’t doing too much better offensively averaging 2.20 goals over their last 5, but have scored an average of 3.13 goals per game on the road this season where they are 25-9-4. Philly has taken 3 of 5 meetings between these two teams this season and 10 of their last 13 meetings overall. The Flyers are 4-1-1 on the second of a back to back coming off a loss in the first game. Also note that despite their recent struggles the Flyers are still 5-1 in their last 6 road games, and 5-2 in their last 7 road games vs a team with a winning home record. The Devils are just 1-7 in their last 8 home games vs a team with a road winning % greater than .600. I can’t see the Flyers being affected by the back-to-back coming off of a 1-0 loss last night. This is a team that needs to get their confidence back before heading into the playoffs and I think they will come out hard tonight against the Devils. Back the Flyers tonight on the money line.
Side note: does anyone know a lot about horse racing? I’m looking for a writer for my Bet on Kentucky Derby site to do some work in early April. Just leave a comment if you are really knowledgable with horse racing.
