This season continues to be a stressful roller coaster ride. Our game of the week was a shootout loss with the Predators, and I also dropped my two over/under plays. Toronto couldn’t score in the first game, and in the late game the goalies stopped 63 of 65 shots on net.
Lets have a good weekend here and try and profit Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Two plays tonight…
Boston Bruins @ Buffalo Sabres – OVER 5.5 GOALS (+125)
(Note: I’m risking 1.25 units to win 1 unit)
The Bruins are averaging 3.22 goals per game on the season, while the Sabres are scoring 2.88 per game on home ice. Over their last 5 games the Sabres have scored 2.80 goals per game, and have allowed 3.40 goals against. The Bruins are only scoring 1.80 goals per game over their last 5, but have recored 33 or more shots in 4 of those 5 games. In their last game they managed to put up 4 goals on 19 shots against one of the NHL’s best goalies this season (Elliot). These two teams have met each other 3 times this season with totals of 6, 7, and 8. In fact the OVER is a perfect 6-0 in their last 6 meetings. The OVER is 12-4-1 in the Bruins last 17 games as a road favorite, while the OVER is also 5-0 in the Sabres last 5 as an underdog. Take the OVER.
Minnesota Wild @ Dallas Stars – UNDER 5 GOALS (+100)
(Note: I’m risking 1 unit to win 1 unit)
Both teams are on a back to back, and both are coming off wins. The Wild beat the Panthers 3-2 in a shootout, while the Stars won in Chicago 3-1. In their last 5 games the Wild are scoring just 1.60 goals per game while allowing 2.20 against. The Stars are doing a little better scoring 2.40 goals per game in their last 5 and holding opponents to 1.60. The low scoring games aren’t unusual for these two teams – the Wild are averaging just 2.13 goals per game and the Stars are averaging 2.52 per game. The UNDER is 4-1-1 in the Wild’s last 6 overall and 17-6-7 in their last 30 road games. The UNDER is 4-0-2 in the Stars last 6 overall, and 7-1-2 in their last 10 home games. Fighting for one of the last spots in the Western Conference playoffs I expect this to be a tight checking game, and there shouldn’t be many goals scored if the goalies play well. Take the UNDER.
