We also hit the Avs/Kings OVER play in the afternoon, and just missed on our big ugly dog pick of the Hurricanes. On to Sunday’s plays…
NHL Betting Picks for Sunday, February 27th:
Tampa Bay Lightning @ New York Rangers – LIGHTNING TO WIN (+115) – ** 1:00 PM EST START** – These two teams meet for their 4th time this season this afternoon, with the Lightning winning the first 3 meetings. Tampa Bay has won two straight games since a three game losing skid, and finally are playing on the road after 12 straight home games. The Rangers have won two straight, but just 4 of their last 12 games. The Rangers are hit with injury troubles again with Gaborik out with a concussion and now Marc Staal out with a knee injury. The Lightning are 6-2 in their last 8 games as a road underdog and 11-5 in their last 16 vs a team with a winning record. The Rangers are just 8-18 in their last 26 home games vs a team with a winning road record, and 1-4 in their last 5 games as a small favorite of -110 to -150. I think we are getting value here on a solid Lightning team. Take the Bolts.
Toronto Maple Leafs @ Atlanta Thrashers – MAPLE LEAFS TO WIN (+115) – The Maple Leafs pulled one point ahead of the Thrashers last night with their shootout loss to the Penguins. The Leafs are 6-1-3 in their last 10 games, while the Thrashers are just 1-7-2 in their past 10. The Maple Leafs are 4-1 in their last 5 road games, while the Thrashers are just 2-8 in their past 10 home games. Note that the Leafs are 9-4 in their last 13 games after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game. The Thrashers are an amazingly bad 3-14 in their last 17 home games vs a team with a losing road record and 1-10 in their last 11 vs a team with a losing record. The road team is 4-1 in these two teams last 5 meetings, and the Leafs are 10-4 in their last 14 meetings in Atlanta. The Maple Leafs are the hungrier team and find a way to get things done this afternoon.
Two underdogs, one winner and we profit, but lets hit both! Good Luck guys!
