NHL Picks for February 28th

Another profiting night last night, albeit a small profit.  We hit our underdog pick with the Lightning as they won 2-1 in New York, and looked good with our underdog pick of the Leafs, but they blew at 2-0 lead in the third to lose 3-2 in OT.

Today is the NHL trade deadline day and we only have 2 games on the NHL board.  Trades are rather slow so far as I type this article, but I am sure some trades will start heating up as we get closer to the deadline.

NHL Betting Picks for Monday, February 28th:

Chicago Blackhawks @ Minnesota Wild – WILD TO WIN (+102) – These two teams have both won 33 games coming into tonight’s meeting. The Blackhawks have won 4 straight, including a shootout victory at home against the Coyotes last night.  The Wild enjoyed Saturday and Sunday off after a 3-2 OT victory in Anaheim on Friday night.  Although just 6-4 in their last 10 games, the Wild losses have come to solid teams (Kings, Wings, Canucks and the Blackhawks on February 16th in Chicago).  A weird trend to look at – the Blackhawks are 2-6 in their last 8 games as a small favorite of -110 to -150.  Note that the Wild are 6-2 in their last 8 home games and 76-31 in their last 107 home games vs a team with a losing road record.  Although not confirmed, Turco is the lean in net tonight.  Marty Turco has a 3.08 GAA and .897 SV% on the year.  Backstrom is 13-8-3 at home with a .927 SV% on the year.  Chicago has taken 2 of the 3 meetings between these teams this season, including their meeting in Minnesota in late October.  I like the WILD getting revenge tonight as they get the underdog tag.

  1. Thank you very much kevin! Last night was another profitable night thanks to your predictions.

A shame as the disaster of Toronto missed 2 goals. What more absurd team

  2. Couldn’t help but cringe a little when Giguere went in.

We keep hearing about how he’s not 100% with the groin issues, can’t understand why they would dress him and not Scrivens.
Wilson essentially stated that the team is not confident playing in front of Giggy.

  3. Looks like Crawford is going to start for Chicago…I don’t know if I would be against him given how hot he has been!

  4. This is my parlay for today..

    BlackHawks Win
    Detroit/LA under 5.5
    LA Clippers 1-10(winning margin)
