Great way to start back with a 2 for 2 night with both picks being close to even money plays! 🙂
The Bruins beat Carolina on the road 3-2 in our underdog pick, and the Wild who were slight favorites got things done against the Kings in shootout. All around great night and great start to what will be an awesome month. If you’re not signed up for my special GOM/GOW picks click here to sign up free now.
Sorry I’m late posting these up today, it’s been a hectic day out and about with all of the snow we got here in Ontario over night.
NHL Betting Picks for Wednesday, February 2nd:
Detroit Red Wings @ Ottawa Senators – SENS TO WIN (+163) – Some of you will look at this pick in disgust… but I think there is some nice value here on the Senators at home. I’ve actually done quite well winning money betting against them this year, but they may be able to help us win more money here hoping on their side this time. Ottawa goes back with Robin Lehner in net tonight after his 31 save performance last night in a 2-1 loss against the Devils. This kid is good – he is 1-1 with a 2.35 GAA and .910 SV % this year and is just starting to get comfortable. The Red Wings will get Cleary back in the line up, but are still missing a good core of their players including Datsyuk, Modano, Holmstrom, and Stuart. The Wings have done okay despite the injuries, but are just 3-4 in their last 7 games. Although the Sens have only won 1 game in their past 14 we can look at their last 5 home games where they have lost 4 of those by just one goal. The Sens won’t get a win tonight playing like they have lately, but I think this is gut check time for them and they will come out hard at home with the Red Wings in town. Big ugly underdog pick of the night is on the SENS at home.
San Jose Sharks @ Anaheim Ducks – DUCKS TO WIN (-101) – The Ducks come into tonight with two more wins than the Sharks at 28, and have a great 17-7-1 home record, yet we see them as small favorites tonight. The Sharks are coming off a big 5-3 come from behind win last night a home, while the Ducks are playing in their first game since the 25th of January (where they finished of the pre All Star break winning 4 of their last 5). The Ducks have taken 2 of these two teams 3 meetings so far this year, including the last two. Hiller is in net for Anaheim tonight, who has a .926 SV% on the year, and recorded a 37 save shutout the last time these two met on January 9th. The Sharks are just 3-8 in their last 11 games as a favorite, and 2-5 in their last 7 games as a road favorite of -110 to -150. The Ducks are 5-1 in their last 6 vs a team with a winning record, and 4-1 in their last 5 games as a home underdog. They are also an impressive 40-18 in their last 58 home games, and 12-5 in their last 17 home games vs a team with a winning road record. This pick was almost a GOW for me, but it is tough to tell how a team will play coming off a break, so just a regular play tonight – but get your money in on the Ducks.
