NHL Picks for February 6th

1

I’m getting Sunday’s picks just after midnight Saturday night because tomorrow will be a busy day with the Super Bowl!

Another winning night last night going 2 for 3.  A winner in our afternoon underdog pick on the Ducks at a nice +130, and the Predators as a pick’em at home.  Our under pick on the Leafs/Sabres was the only downfall of the night.  Congrats to those who followed my NHL picks last night!

3 games in the NHL for Super Bowl Sunday, including a great Pittsburgh/Washington match up (too bad Crosby and Malkin are out).  I have one play for today.

NHL Betting Picks for Sunday, February 6th:

St Louis Blues @ Tampa Bay Lightning – OVER 5.5 GOALS (-120) – The Blues bounced out of a 4 game losing skid in their first game back from the All Star break beating the Oilers 5-3 on Friday night.  The Blues have given up an average of 4 goals against per game in their last 5 games.  On the road this season the Blues are averaging 3.61 goals against per game.  The Lightning had their 6 game winning streak snapped on Friday night as they fell 5-2 to the Caps.  Tampa is giving Roloson a rest Sunday and made Ellis the confirmed starter.  Dan Ellis has been mediocre this season with his 2.87 GAA and .887 SV %.  The OVER is 4-1 in the Blues last 5 overall and 6-2 in their last 8 road games.  The OVER is 4-1 in the Lightning’s last 5 games vs Western Conference opponents.  You can’t get much out of a head to head stat from cross conference match ups, but for what it’s worth, the OVER has hit 5 straight times between these two teams.  The Lightning who looked a little flat on Friday should come out hard today and set a fast pace, and I think we can get our money in on the OVER with confidence.

Super Bowl Pick – For fun I will do my own Super Bowl prop bet for tonight (if you want a premium selection check out SportsPicksKing.com).  I did some research and I like the value on Rodgers to throw an interception first.  Green Bay probably won’t be able to do too much on the ground like most teams and will air it out a lot more than Pittsburgh in the early goings.  Aaron Rodgers to throw the first INT is paying -115 at 5Dimes.com – enjoy and leave your pick below!
