NHL Picks for March 12th

That’s more like it… back to back nights with Game of the Week WINNERS.  The Capitals didn’t have many problems with a Maple Leafs team who can’t seem to score lately.  Washington went up 1-0 fairly early and finished with a 2-0 victory.

Lets keep going here tonight with 4 NHL games on board.  I have one play…

Anaheim Ducks @ Colorado Avalanche – AVALANCHE TO WIN (-120)
(Note: I’m risking 1.20 units to win 1 unit)

The Ducks come into tonight’s game losers of two straight road games.  They lost 2-0 to Dallas on Saturday night and 3-1 in St Louis on Thursday.  Their playoff chances are very slim now with their 29-30-10 record.  The Ducks are just 11-16-8 on the road this season.  Colorado is coming off a 3-2 home shootout win on Saturday afternoon, and are winners of 3 of their last 4.  Overall the Avalanche have won 7 of their last 10 games which has kept them in the running for a Western Conference playoff spot.  Colorado is 36-30-4 on the season and 20-15-1 at home. These two teams have met 3 times this season with the Avalanche winning 2 of the 3, including the latest meeting 4-1 in Colorado.  This season the Ducks are averaging less than 2 goals per game on the road, and they are averaging just 2 goals per game over their last 5.  They are also just 8-27 in their last 35 games as an underdog and 6-20 in their last 26 vs a team with a winning record.  The Avalanche are 7-1 in their last 8 games as a favorite, and 6-2 in their last 8 home games.  Take Colorado at home only laying a bit of chalk tonight.

  1. Ones more I have to disagree with you as I was crying on my ML bet on Edmonton @ Colorado this Saturday watching Oilers jump to lead after 1st than making two stupid D mistakes in 2nd to blow the lead and at the end to see good Oilers goal being disallowed and losing it all in SO. I didn’t like the way Colorado performed that night.
On the other hand to lose to STL on the road is no big deal for almost every team in NHL as well as to lose to DAL who’s riding 5 game winning streak themselves… I believe Ducks are still capable to turn things around (take a look at road record in Feb 5-2-2).
And still Colorado is missing top line center.
I’ll wait for Perry’s status and if he’s in I’m in for Ducks.

  2. A 3-1 night yesterday as our only loss came from Rangers who won the game in overtime. Panthers beat Canes 2-0, Blues beat Columbus 2-1, and the Kings, our underdog pick won 3-2 against the Hawks. A profitable night (+1.85 units). I have 2 plays going for today.

Predators to Win (-105) and Under 5 goals (+100)

    Good luck everyone.

  3. A 1-1 night (No Profit/No Loss) with Predators defeating Coyotes in ShootOut. Under was looking good till the end of 1st Period but 4 goals in the 2nd period ensured that we will lose our Under pick and In the end, that’s what happened. Overall a No profit/no loss night.

Hey Kevin, If you get any info on the starting goalies in the match up of Blues and Hawks, Can you please post it, Thanks.
