NHL Picks for March 20th

Well not what we had planned last night.  Our GOW missed as we were on the Panthers who lost in shootout last night.  They were all over the Islanders in overtime and even had a penalty shot, but couldn’t capitalize  and eventually lost in shootout.  Our pick on the Stars as home underdogs also lost in a shootout, but fortunately the Ducks prevailed for a nice underdog pick.

Never a good night when we drop a GOW pick. Nonetheless I am back on Sunday and hoping to get back on the winning side of things tonight.  Good Luck tonight.

NHL Betting Picks for Sunday, March 20th:

Chicago Blackhawks @ Phoenix Coyotes – UNDER 5.5 GOALS (-107) – The Blackhawks had 2 nights off after a 5-0 loss in Dallas on Thursday night, and have dropped 4 of their last 5 games heading into tonight.  The Coyotes finished up their 4 game Western road swing on Friday night winning all four games, which gives them 5 straight wins heading into tonight’s game.  Over their last 5 games the Coyotes are giving up just 1.40 goals against per game.  These two teams have met 3 times this season, with two of those meetings going UNDER the posted total.  The Blackhawks come into tonight’s game as slight favorites, and the UNDER is 9-3 in their last 12 games as a road favorite.  The UNDER is 27-11-2 in these two teams last 40 meetings dating back.  Crawford is in net for the Blackhawks, and we can expect Bryzgalov in net for the Yotes who has a .914 SV% at home this year.  Goals should be hard to come by in this game that has big Western Conference playoff implications.  I’m on the UNDER.

Calgary Flames @ Anaheim Ducks – DUCKS TO WIN (-113) – Both teams are sitting 1 point out of a playoff spot in the West with 83 points each – this should be a battle tonight.  The Flames are coming off a 5-2 win against Colorado, but had lost 3 straight prior to that.  The Ducks won in LA last night (2-1 in OT) and have won 4 of their last 5 games and 7 of their last 9.  The Ducks are scoring 3.40 goals per game over their last 5 and getting good goaltending too allowing just 2.20 goals against per game over that span.  These two teams have met twice this season with Anaheim taking both meetings in extra time.  The Flames are just 2-5 in their last 7 games as an underdog, and 2-5 in their last 7 vs a team with a winning record.  Anaheim is 28-11 in their last 39 games as a home favorite, and 5-2 in their last 7 home games overall.  For whatever reason, the Flames have had major troubles in Anaheim winning only twice in their last 25 trips to Anaheim.  The Flames are also just 3-9 in their last 12 meetings overall.  Take the DUCKS tonight.
