NHL Picks for March 2nd

A nice 2 for 3 day yesterday with our picks.  The Habs got things done in Atlanta with Carey Price leading the way there, and the Nashville/Edmonton game stayed comfortably under the total with a 2-1 final score.  Our pick with the Canes on the puck line didn’t come through – they won they game but couldn’t get that empty net goal to give us a perfect night.

Only 5 games on the NHL board tonight, but I am looking at a possible GOW pick coming tomorrow depending on where the line opens up at. Click here to sign up to receive my exclusive but free members only NHL picks.

NHL Betting Picks for Wednesday, March 2nd:

Calgary Flames @ Chicago Blackhawks – UNDER 5.5 GOALS (-111) –  Game of the night?  Possibly.  These two teams are fighting for one of those 4th through 8th playoff spots in the tight Western Conference and have both been playing solid hockey as of late.  Chicago has won 5 straight and 7 of their last 10 games, and the Flames have won  13 of their past 18 games.  These two teams have been playing “over” type games recently, but we can expect more of a playoff type atmosphere tonight and a low scoring affair similar to their February 7th meeting where the Flames won 3-1.  Calgary comes into tonight as big underdogs, and the UNDER is 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog of +151 to +200.  Coming off their 6-0 win last night the Flames are on no days rest and the UNDER is 6-2 in their last 8 games playing with no rest.  Look for a 3-1 or 3-2 type game – take the UNDER.

**Added Play** – Detroit Red Wings @ Anaheim Ducks – RED WINGS TO WIN (-130) – Sorry don’t have time this afternoon for a write up for this one.

Good Luck tonight!

  1. Hey Kevin. Like the pick – the Flames @ Hawks game will be a good one tonight. I was so tempted by Calgary’s underdog odds.

What are your thoughts on Detroit to win at Anaheim and the over 5.5? Really liking Detroit’s goalscoring at the moment which looks like bad news for the Ducks especially with Hiller out. Corey Perry is rumoured to be injured too and I can’t look past Detroit sweeping the series this season. I guess it depends on the odds.

I also like Tampa @ NJ under 5.5 with Roloson for Tampa and Brodeur back in goal at home.

  2. christine warner on

I also like Detroit on the over. I’m leaning towards Tampa Bay over NJ Devils tonight, what do you think?

  3. Detroit and the OVER looks good in that game. I could see a 4-3 or 4-2 Wings win.

Under 5.5 in TB/NJ looks good but most or all bookies have the line at 5.

  4. @Christine – I just can’t bring myself to bet against the Devils right now with the way they are playing. Tempting odds for taking TB but just can’t do it tonight.

  5. Money has been coming in on Pittsburgh.. the Leafs are now at -118 and worth a look.
