NHL Picks for May 6th

Well we saw our first loss with a GOM pick yesterday…. what a rough way to lose it.  3 third period goals, including an empty netter to put it OVER the total.

I still would bet it 100 times if I had the opportunity, as I really like those odds for the UNDER when the Canucks and Nashville meet up in the playoffs.

Anyways losses happen, I just need to re-focus and provide some more winners.

I have one play for free here at the blog, while another NHL play (on a side) is going at our SportsPicksKing.com system.

San Jose Sharks @ Detroit Red Wings – OVER 5.5 GOALS (-102)

The first two games of this series both had just 3 goals total, but we have to look at the shots on net.  Game 1 we had 71 shots on goal and, what do ya know, Game 2 was 71 shots on net.  In Game 3 we saw a 4-3 San Jose win to put them up 3-0 in the series, and with the short overtime we had 79 shots on net.  I don’t care how good the goalies are, if they are constantly peppered with 30+ shots they are going to let in 2 or 3 goals (especially with the goal scorers both teams have). In the regular season the OVER was 3-1 between these two teams, and the OVER is a perfect 5-0 in their last 5 meetings in Detroit.  Note that the OVER is 11-1-1 in the Sharks last 13 road games, and 14-6-2 in their last 22 games overall.  Also note the OVER is 4-1 in the Sharks last 5 playoff games as an underdog.  The OVER is 6-0 in the Red Wings last 6 home games, and and 10-1-2 in their last 13 playoff games as a favorite.  The OVER is also 7-2 in the Red Wings last 9 games overall.  I expect another high scoring game between these two teams here tonight.  I’m on the OVER with confidence in Game 4.
