NHL Picks for November 11th

For those of you who didn’t read my last post , two things:

First, of course I got a new site setup last night and it will be going through some changes over the next week or so.  I am now doing a daily blog post each day with my picks and some reasoning for those picks.  Bookmark the homepage of the site and you will see the blog posts linked to just under the video and in the sidebar on the right.

November 11th Picks:

Nashville Predators @ St Louis Blues – PREDATORS TO WIN (+130) – The St Louis Blues are coming off an embarrassing 8-1 loss last night to the Blue Jackets.  Although they will be motivated after being embarrassed, they didn’t have a days rest at all and if you factor in the travel time too this is a Blues team that might come out of the gates slow.  There is value here on the Preds at +130, who have won 5 of these two teams last 6 meetings.  Also consider the Preds have lost 5 straight since a hot start to the season and are on 3 days rest, and we have Nashville in a good spot at a good sized underdog.

Philadelphia Flyers @ Carolina Hurricanes – HURRICANES TO WIN (-101) – Philadelphia has been one of the hottest teams in the NHL, but just had a 6 game winning streak snapped on Sunday with an OT loss.  The Hurricanes are rolling winning 3 of their last 4, and 3 straight home games.  They are coming off of a 7-1 thrashing of the Oilers on Tuesday, and Cam Ward has been solid in between the pipes all season.  Philadelphia won their November 1st meeting 3-2 at home, but tonight I like the Hurricanes at home as slight dogs.
