NHL Picks for October 22nd

We split the picks last night.  Our puck line play came through with the Wings winning 5-2, but the Ducks were another victim of Kari Lehtonen.  Anaheim outshot the Stars 36-19, and outplayed them for most of the game, but Lehtonen stopped just about everything that came his way.  I’m going to lay off betting against the Stars when he is in net, because he’s off to a crazy start to the season.

I’ve been doing the research/handicapping for my picks this morning and last night, but I’ve ran out of time to write up full explanations of my picks right now  (I’m going to visit my new Golden Retriever puppy that I get to take home next weekend).  I always like providing write ups for my plays, so if I get home in time I will get a write up going for each pick on the blog.

Note: 5 Star picks will be coming… I am still feeling out each team here early in the season, and am ready to pounce on a play for 5 units when it comes.  No point in forcing anything early.

On to tonight’s picks…

Buffalo Sabres @ Tampa Bay Lightning – SABRES TO WIN (-115)

(Note: I’m risking 1.15 units to win 1 unit)

Colorado Avalanche @ Chicago Blackhawks – AVALANCHE TO WIN (+171)

(Note: I’m risking 1 unit to win 1.71 units)

Dallas Stars @ Los Angeles Kings – UNDER 5 GOALS (+111)

(Note: I’m risking 1 unit to win 1.11 units)

New York Rangers @ Edmonton Oilers – UNDER 5 GOALS (+108)

(Note: I’m risking 1 unit to win 1.08 units)

New York Islanders @ Florida Panthers – UNDER 5.5 GOALS (-139)

(Note: I’m risking 1.39 units to win 1 unit)
